Liz Watters

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Liz brings a deep appreciation for the region’s landscapes and built environment to her work. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she developed a hands-on, iterative approach to design. During her studies, she spent a year in Florence, Italy, gaining an appreciation for architecture as a convergence of art, history, and storytelling.

Liz began her career with Nelson Treehouse, also known as "The Treehouse Masters," a local design-build firm recognized for its highly customized and complex tree-supported projects. Working closely with craftspeople and builders, she developed a strong understanding of construction and a lasting appreciation for thoughtful detailing and execution. This experience continues to inform her work, with a focus on creating site-sensitive architecture that is considerate of both its inhabitants and its environment.

Outside the studio, Liz enjoys watercolor painting, knitting, and exploring the outdoors through running, hiking, cycling, and skiing. She is also a certified yoga teacher and is training to become a volunteer ski patroller.
